Who needs to be screened?
Consider these three recommendations for screening:
- Age - Guidelines generally recommend colon cancer screenings begin at age 50
- Ethnicity - Experts now recommend that African-Americans begin screening at age 45
- Family History - Patients with relatives who have had polyps or colorectal cancer should be screened 10 years prior to the youngest family incidence.
