If you have a farmer’s market nearby, stop by and pick up some fresh in-season produce. Meet the farmers, ask them questions, and try new fruits and vegetables.

That is precisely how our family was introduced to Swiss chard and kale. I never would have thought to pick them up at the grocery store, but seeing them on display in all their beauty at the farmers market, I decided to give them a try. I took a chance, and now our family enjoys them whenever they are in season.

Combine fresh produce like Swiss chard and kale with whole grains and lean proteins, and you will have a diet that is great for overall health – and especially for colon health.
