Beets, Pomegranates and More in Season for December

The holiday season is upon us, and with all of the traveling, cooking, shopping, partying and decorating the season demands, December is busy. When life is hectic, it’s easy to succumb to takeout or the drive-thru, throwing your money and colon-healthy diet out the window. But by being proactive, you can still enjoy the festivities of the holiday season without neglecting your health.

Below you will find 31 meal ideas for each day of December, from soups and salads to sandwiches and stir-frys. Even if you don't have time to fix the entire meal, fill up on whole foods like the fruits and veggies on our list below; lean meats like chicken, turkey and fish; whole grains like brown rice, couscous; and whole wheat pastas and breads.
