Jimmy, my brother, died on September 11, 1995 from colon cancer due to Lynch syndrome. I have never gotten over the loss.
He was an amazing and magnetic soul. He was a great story teller, mathematician, and juggler, and despised the fact his life was going to be cut short due to colon cancer. At the time of his death, he did not know he had Lynch syndrome.
Jimmy’s death fuels my advocacy efforts and my blog: ihavelynchsyndrome.com
“The reality is that you will grieve forever. You will not ‘get over’ the loss of a loved one; you will learn to live with it. You will heal and you will rebuild yourself around the loss you have suffered. You will be whole again but you will never be the same. Nor should you be the same nor would you want to.”
